Herbert Janssen received the Diploma in Physiscs in 1989 from the Westphalian Wilhelms University Muenster, Germany. From 1989 to 1999 he was researcher at the Institute for Neuroinformatics, University of Bochum, Germany. From 1999 to 2004 he worked in the Honda R&D robot lab in Wakoushi, Japan. Since 2004 he works as a Principal Scientist for the Honda Research Institute GmbH in Offenbach, Germany.
His current research interests include behavior control, goal acquisition and goal directed behavior, affordance and behaviorally relevant sensor evaluation.
