Matthias Rolf received the diploma degree "with distinction" in Applied Computer Science from the University of Bielefeld in June 2008. He is interested in machine-learning applications in robotics and vision, cognitive science and software engineering. The topic of his diploma thesis is the guidance of visual attention via audio-visual synchrony in social learning.
Since August 2008 he is a member of the Graduate School for Cognition and Robotics, whereas his PhD topic is Neural Learning of Flexible Full Body Motion. His fields of research are thereby motor learning and control with recurrent neural networks and imitation learning.
