Yaochu Jin received the Ph.D. degree from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 1996, and the Dr.-Ing. degree from Ruhr-University Bochum, Bochum, Germany, in 2001. He was an Associate Professor with the Electrical Engineering Department, Zhejiang University, and a Postdoctoral Associate with the Industrial Engineering Department, the State University of New Jersey. Since 2003, he has been a Principal Scientist at the Honda Research Institute Europe. His research interests include evolutionary and learning approaches to complex systems design (computational intelligence), and computational approaches to a systems-level understanding of evolution and learning in biology (computational systems biology).
Dr. Jin currently serves as an Associate Editor of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON NEURAL NETWORKS, the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON CONTROL SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY, the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON SYSTEMS, MAN, AND CYBERNETICS, PART C, and the IEEE COMPUTATIONAL INTELLIGENCE MAGAZINE.
