In 2008 Alexandra Barchunova graduated from Christian-Albrechts University in Kiel where she was majoring in Computer Science. In the course of her diploma thesis she has designed and implemented a classification procedure for partially occluded 3D objects within the experimental setup of the COSPAL project. Alexandra has started her studies at the Novosibirsk State University in Russia. As a participant of an American Council program she has attended courses at the University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire in the USA. Since November 2008 she is enrolled in a PhD program of the CoR-Lab. The topic of her research is multimodal recognition of manual interaction. The scope of the project covers mainly action capture, modelling and recognition.
