From 2002 to 2007 Jan Moringen studied computer science and mathematics at the University of Bielefeld. In 2007 he received the diploma in computer science (Naturwissenschaftliche Informatik) from the faculty of technology. The topic of his diploma thesis is learning correspondences between visual shapes and description words from large bodies of annotated images.
In 2008 he joined the Research Institute for Cognition and Robotics (CoR-Lab) as a Ph.D. student and the Applied Computer Science group at the University of Bielefeld.
