Nikolas Hemion is working on his PhD at the CoR-Lab and is associated to the Applied Informatics Group (AGAI) and the Emergentist Semantics Group at the CITEC, Bielefeld University.
In his research, Nikolas is interested in cognitive architectures for robots, in particular in developmental robotics paradigms. He is working on a representation that a robot can learn autonomously via exploration. Nikolas is involved in giving introductory courses on cognitive architectures for robots and on mental representations.
He received the Dipl. Inform. in computer science and robotics from Bielefeld University in 2008. In his thesis he developed a part-based visual detection system for iceWing.
